Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt Stepping Down
Google’s Eric Schmidt will be stepping down as CEO, a move that will take effect April 4, 2011 when he’ll be replaced by Google co-founder Larry Page.
It has been reported that Page will take control of day to day operations as CEO, and at the same time, Co-founder Sergey Brin will take on strategic projects, development and new products. Schmidt will become Executive Chairman, with his focus becoming government outreach, partnerships, business relationships and technology. With Google’s global reach being what it is, we can assume Google values Schmidt’s focus and leadership in these areas.
